New found respect for McCall

Postby Strangeways on Wed Mar 18, 2009 10:48 am

After mccall came out and said that he will walk away if we do not reach the play offs i have a new found respect for him, to be honest i thought he would come out and make all kind of excuses again but no hes taking the blame and we all know where we stand if we dont reach the play offs, so i guess it's time for everyone to stop calling for his head and get behind him and the team for the rest of the season. Never thought I'd say this after some of the rubbish you've spouted on here but excellent post.

Does anyone think Colin Toad would have done the same ?

The play-offs are within our reach, we need the supporters to get behind the players/manager for the next 8 games, if we fail then so be it but let's make a decent fist of it.

Excellent post. You can knock Stuart for a lot of things but you have to respect him for his honesty and integrity. Everybody knows where they stand now, if you want Stuart out there's no need to even mention it anymore. Just bite your lip and get behind Stuart and the team for these crucial 8, hopefully 11, games.

It was never in doubt really. I remember listening to him speak after the Accrington humiliation last season. No one can seriously doubt his passion/love for the club it is just a shame the players don't share that with him.

I was kind of moved by the honesty of his interview, felt a bit guilty for some of the ridiculous things ive posted you can clearly feel how much hes hurting just like us.

We are only out of the playoffs on goal difference. Granted Chesterfield have three games in hand, but I don't see them getting any more than 6 points from them. 8 games left - let's get behind Macca and the team!!!

The vast majority are backing Stuart! The home attendances have hardly waivered over the past 2 seasons and our away support is exceptional for this league. This will not change for the remainder of the season either! We'll all be there on Saturday expecting a win!

Forget what is said on here, we just like arguing, debating and passing the time at work.

Stuart has made his bed now though, if we miss the play offs this season then he hasn't performed well enough and he's said he'll leave. His team, his players, his tactics.

Lets just hope we go up!

I am backing him, never haven't, but walking is best if we finish sub 7th. I too have more respect for him now, caught both interviews last night, he was down after the first one but in the 2nd he sounded upset. :(

I would be happy for him to stay at the club in some capacity, maybe as assistant manager behind a new first team manager. Not sure that has ever happened though.
