Well it was 18,000 when the new kop was built before they added the corner and top tier on the sunwin, so about 14,500-15,000. Although if you mean just the lower tier in the TL Dallas knock 900 off the figure.

Why, what's your idea - keep everyone in the bottom tiers together to improve the atmosphere ??

Could work apart from the Bradford End where the view downstairs is very poor ...... on second thoughts!!

It has often been in my mind these last few seasons.

The kop in particular is now too spread and it would be good to fill from the bottom up, even though you would need to start
moving up row by row in the top tier.

The problem is I like many others have got used to sitting in the same seat since the new kop was opened (upper tier).
I would still like to sit around the same people as I have for all this time even though all of them may not want to sit near me

I think it could be explored further......

From an atmosphere point of view its a winner but so may people like myself love the view from the upper Kop, its immense and you get such an angle on play from up there.

I agree about the view, don't want to change the theme but I think managers could gain a lot
from an elevated view, at least in the first half.

From behind that goal in the kop you see everything unfold.

I am lead to belive that the Sunwin lower had a capacity of 4,800 in the Premiership, and the Bradford End has a capacity of 1,850 - 1,000 of those seats being in the top tier.

The Kop has a capacity of 7,492, with the bottom tier roughly holding around 4,000.

North-West corner - Capacity 2,300.....500 seats for arguments sake in the bottom tier.

We already know the Midland road has a capacity of 4,500....

So,

Sunwin Lower - 4,800
Midland Road - 4,500
Carlsberg Kop Lower - 4,000
Bradford End Lower - 850
North-West Corner Lower - 500

TOTAL - 14,650

Not that is matters, because a lot of our long-standing ST holders are situated in the Upper Kop.

If the reason is for the atmosphere, then close the lower tier of the kop. Have upstairs in the kop and Bradford end open plus down stairs in Sunwin plus the Midland Road.

Now that is a good idea, I for one would be happy and you could put my thoughts in reverse and move down in the bottom tier row by row when needed.

I think most fans who sit in the kop would consider this way of condensing it so that we were all together as one.
We all know how much noise that kop can make when together, standing (old days) or seated.

The Club should be doing more to encourage more ticket deals to try and fill up those thousands of empty seats for next season. E.g. Special Promotions to schools/families/restaurants are anything really.

They can't shut the top of the main stand as they're the sponsors seats. Good idea in principle though, although I'm not sure those in the top tier of the Carlsberg would be too impressed!

Was it the Port Vale game in the JPT where everyone was in the top tier of the Kop? That was a fantastic atmosphere and it was great to see it nearly full that night.
