I could understand the new Bradford End concept at the time but City's last 30 years fan base strengh has been built around
a huge kop presence which we have now lost but could easily be restored.

I have been supporting Bradford City since I was 8 years of age - I'm now 19. I was 11 when I started to watch City on a regular basis. The new Kop was built in 1999 - 2 years before my old man purchased my first ST from the club. In the time I have been watching BCFC, there hasn't been many occasions when I have thought to myself 'Wow, the atmsophere in the Kop is amazing' barring derby/important games....Of which there hasn't been to many of down the years.

If you're sat in the Kop, it may seem loud. But to the players, it's a distant echo. The noice generated in the Kop doesn't travel as well as is does in the Bradford End - Given it's low roof and amazing accousics.

Give me the Bradford End over the Kop everyday of the week.

We will agree to disagree...

Just to add my lad who is five has just started to show an interest and comes with me to the games.
He get's bored from time to time but loves it...... he thinks it's really noisy in the kop!

Fair play to you and keep enjoying coming as I hope my son will.

The Kop End, the tea bar at the back

All standing

have NEVER known a mass of souls pull a ball into the net as the Bradford Kop up to 2000

In hindsight i wish it was still there.

It was a great experience.... City would score and you could easily end up 20 feet from where you were originally standing.
Maybe this is the thing, too many fond memories when todays seated football supporting is so different.

Queeny, I take it you started going regularly once we were in the Championship? If that is the case you missed out on some cracking atmospheres, particularly in the old Kop, but those days are gone unfortunately.
The Kop (when packed out back in the day) had the magic of being able to suck the ball into the goal when we were attacking that end, as well as the wall of noise that bellowed out, it was awesome. When we were in the Prem, when everyone stood up (bit like the domino effect) the noise of all the seats falling back at the same time, created this fantastic echoing din. I'll never forget it. When in full rousing chorus, it was bloody loud too.
I'm not knocking the effort of what you guys do in the Bradford End, as at least you are trying to make an atmosphere and I applaud you all for it, but even if/when the Bradford End was/is full, it could never create such an atmosphere as that.

In reference to the thread about the bottom tiers of the ground, I agree on the potential closing of a chosen tier of the Kop. There are far too many bodies spread out over the two tiers. All supporters combined together into one tier and there could be much more noise created than at present.

Maybe it is time for all City fans to come together again.

This whole Bradford end thing was a non starter for me.

The kop needs a lead chant wise, the fans who can provide it can't make the noise on their own because they are at the other end of the pitch!

A massive balance problem going on.[/quote]

BEST SHOUT for ages.............City should move all the Bradford Enders into the North West Corner....and advertise it as the Singing Section.

All for one and One for all :)

I was at the Bury game with couple of mates, I swear we we're the only one in the whole of the Midland Road Stand Singing 'Hi-Ho Super City'.

Tried to start some chants during the game, but every time we did, people started giving us the looks.

Don't I know it, half of the time my heads rested on it

I can vouch for this guy, i do sit next to the dude and he sings alot, got a macho voice too. Unlike my squeeky 12 year old girl voice.

Don't know if I chant, cant remember, I think I do?

Should I start warning you in future before I start?

You do sing, just quietly!

Aye, but the Bradford End has far better accoustics than the Kop. Why don't the singers in the Kop (of which there are a few) move into the Bradford End next season and therefore create a far better atmosphere altogether?

Swings and roundabouts, pal.

Maybe they don't want to sit near you seeing as you don't think so much of your fellow fans.

EMBARRESSING.

Almost as 'embarressing' as your grammar ;)

But I do agree with you on most of the above
